    To: AdW Tour Party

    Final message prior to departure:

    1. Go to Manila tomorrow
    2. Take with you:
    PASSPORT & AIRLINE TICKETS
    BLACK FOOTBALL SHORTS
    COLORFUL FOOTBALL SOCKS
FOOTBALL BOOTS (grass pitch) - If anyone has a spare pair of studded boots for Magic Dan in size 9/10 he'd be grateful if he could borrow them.
    SHIN PADS
SWIMMING SHORTS (for use in Nomads magic pool)
MONEY (lots of pieces of 8 - as much as you can hide from your wives)
HAT (Mr. Lewis & Maziar especially)
SQUADRON SONG BOOK (if you happen to have one to hand)
    SPARE LEG (Phil)
    & other personal paraphernalia.

There is NO compulsory fancy dress code - you can wear what you bloody well like - I will be dressed like a Pirate as usual.

Barrington & Jonathan have been doing extensive research via our Recce Troop on the ground (Pirates Jofre & Foggit) - they have learned little of practical use but have filled up my in-basket with a lot of meaningless drivel. We'll improvise when we get there as usual.

See you somewhere either on the way to or in Manila tomorrow evening!

    Cheers
    Pirate Mike

    Lads,

I was checking in on my favorite former (and forevermore) club Hearts, to see where you guy's were in the standings...needless to say.....crap!, seriously boy's pull it together....but moving on....I checked to see who was responsible for such a mediocre start to the season, and, I see none other than COLIN effing REID!!!!on the player profile page for the club!....If you don't know by now, Colin and I played for Barnstonwoth Rovers F.C., in the NYC Cosmopolitain League for several years dating back to 1995, we also attempted to start a local football themed TV show centered on the now shitcanned NY/NJ Metrostars of the MLS, Colin was also the mastermind of a bus trip from hell in which I was one of many helpless passengers, the idea was to take a busload of lonesome and desperate scottish football hooligans loosly affiliated with "The Tartan Army" down to Washington DC to cheer on the likes of Jim Leighton as they took on a hapless U.S. National team in a final friendly prior to the '98 world cup, a low point for both the U.S. and Scotland national teams, which indicates a truly dazzling lack of abilities on both sides considering the football histories of both nations, anyway, to make a long story short, the game finished nil-nil, there was a bus breakdown, and when the tartan army found out that there was no alchohol of any kind served in maryland on sunday's, well, needless to say, things got ugly.....in all honesty, Colin's a good shit who put me in touch with many kind hearted folks in Glasgow, come to think of it, they may have been the ONLY kind-hearted folks in Glasgow, that being said, I would not have enjoyed my time in the land of three teethed lasses and sub-Albanian life expectancies half as much had it not been for Colin's assistance. This is truly an odd coincidence that the two of us will have played for two teams a world apart without correspondance or referal , and one that demonstrates that the full breadth of the earth, occasionally seems, just the size of a football......

Hearts, best of luck moving up the standings, I'm sure that having Colin in defence will only bolster your chances if for no other reason than the fact that he might actually be able to sort the sounds which eminate from Dougies haggis hole into words, something that I was obviously unable to do consistantly, particularly after botching simple crosses due to the angle of the suns radiation...

    best,

    Zak

    P.s.,

If someone could forward this to Colin, I'd appreciate it, and so will his dignity after I tip him off to what volunteering for Hearts Christmas entertainment activities fully implies.

Maasai herdsmen in Kenya have turned to an age-old contraceptive device, the "olor", to protect their precious goat herds from an ongoing drought.

The olor is made from cowhide or a square piece of plastic, and is tied around the belly of the male goat.

It prevents the bucks from mating with the female goats.

The herdsmen are using the device to limit the goat population and ensure there are not too many animals grazing on sparse vegetation.

"We don't want them to breed in this drought," says Mr Ole Ngoshoi Kipameto, a goat owner in Kajiado district.

    Hi,

My name is Owen Grafham. I'm 21 and i'm working as an English Teacher at a teaching training college in Tai Po this year. I have just been looking around for a football team for this season and found you on the internet.

Im originally from South East London, i went to York University UK and i've played football since i was 8 (mostly Sunday League and Uni football although i played for Crystal Palace FC for 3 years when i was about 10-13).

Are you still having trials for new players or anything similar? I realise i'm late but i've only just arrived in the country!

    Anyway, let me know ()

    Cheers,

    Owen Grafham.

Sometime I go shopping and sometime I go swiming. This week something very exiting happened after 5 days of rain. I go mushroom picking. But I dont pick funny mushrooms. I am good mushroom picker. I pick one mushroom as big as football ball. I can show you picture. I will send one picture to Barry.
