Squadron Team
Squadron, Squaddies, Squidrons, called many names across Asia over the years but however you say it the team is best known for mixing its tradition of quality, fast football on the pitch with endurance and stamina off of it. From Burgos to Neptunes, Strawberry’s to Cowboy, the Squaddies have seen and done it all and played a bit of football along the way. The ever fit, ever ready forces players of the pre 97 days never needed to train, have tactics or wear pads, the team always featured players of great natural sporting ability and military preparedness. Today’s civi’s; bankers, marketing consultants and architects are not so blessed and have taken up a weekly regimen to fight the bulge in order to maintain the club’s high footballing standards set in days of old. The team continues to offer quality football on the pitch and is just a little slower off it, with the “double” winning team of 2007 having certainly racked up a few pints during the season. Long may they continue to do so…
